What if the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks did a sketch where they played the roles from The Breakfast Club?

Here’s the story behind this: After the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup in 2010, my boss told me during my yearly review that he wanted to branch out into a new area for our videos — sketches. He was under the impression I was funny, and since I didn’t want to correct him, I accepted his challenge to write some sketches that involved NHL players.

This was the only one I wrote. It’s the Blackhawks in The Breakfast Club because they play in Illinois and the movie takes place in Illinois. Yeah, I was grasping for a connection. I put it on his desk as a hard copy and e-mailed one as well. Of course, I never heard back and it never happened.

I thought I had lost it forever, but I just found a thumb drive with the five-page sketch on it. It’s just the library scene with tweaked dialogue in a few spots. The payoff is picturing Kane dressed as the dweeb, Keith as Ally Sheedy and Campbell as Molly Ringwald. They both have red hair. Get it?

So here it is. Enjoy. The character names are the player names because I think it’s just easier to follow.
